Ever notice that God is always in the present tense? “I am” He says of himself. Not “I will be” or “I was” but “I am” . We on the other hand travel through time like a boat on a river, never knowing what’s around the next bend. But the river is His and the course is His and when he speaks to you of your future He always relates present tense. Your entire journey is His ‘now’. Thus, what we see is not always what we heard Him say, and if we can only believe in our “now” instead of trusting in His “I am” we often get discouraged. If God has told you “it will come to pass” then trust He will bring it about, and wait, which is probably the hardest thing for fast food people like us to do. Rest in his promise and wait – for if He has told you, will he not also do it? Oh and one other thing – don’t let your own flesh or another say “Did God really say?” You know He did. You heard Him!
